Natural beauty of Bali


Describing the beautiful Bali island is always makes me runs out words, the overwhelming natural beauty such a painting from God that makes Balinese are most proud of.
It is known as an island of a thousand temples as more than 90% of Bali's population adheres to Balinese Hinduism. I always feel great to be in this island which I could compare as heaven on earth, magnificent...

Thousand from around the world have chosen Bali as people best destinations,experience the relaxations and beauty of the island. The cool thing about Bali that its preference place by couple to exchange wedding vows, incredibly romantic!

The paradise island has blessed with lovely beaches, breathtaking sunrise and sunset, swaying coconut tree, lush green rice terrace, thousand temples and warmth welcoming people, at the same time have highly spiritual that evokes a powerful ambiance of romance. All are sounds flawless...

Suluban Beach aka Blue point beach
Hidden beauty Suluban beach is one of the best spot for all pro-surfer and it well-known among worldwide surfers.
Suluban derived from Balinese language which mean "walking and passing under coral reef cave", is located in north of Uluwatu near Uluwatu Temple



 "Karma kandara Beach" located in Ungasan-Uluwatu

Bedugul

Its located on the highlands, its has very pleasant weather, blanketing fog and absolutely pollutions free.

Bedugul has its own natural tourist attractions within mountain-lake and the legendary Pura Ulun Danu “ Ulun Danu Temple” also known as Floating Temple,
The very important Hindu-Buddhist temple that was founded in the 17th century. It is dedicated to Dewi Danu, the goddess of the water.

Nyepi ( Day of Silence ) 

Nyepi is a Balinese "Day of Silence" that is commemorated every Isakawarsa (Saka new year) according to Bali's calendar

 
Although Nyepi is primarily a Hindu holiday, non-Hindu residents of Bali observe the day of silence as well, out of respect for their fellow citizens. Even tourists are not exempt; although free to do as they wish inside their hotels, no one is allowed onto the beaches or streets, and the only airport in Bali remains closed for the entire day. The only exceptions granted are for emergency vehicles carrying those with life-threatening conditions and women about to give birth.

Devout Hindu Balinese villages usually make ogoh-ogoh, demonic statues made of bamboo and paper symbolizing negative elements or malevolent spirits. After the ogoh-ogoh have been paraded around the village, the Ngrupuk ritual takes place, which involves burning the ogoh-ogoh.







 
Hindu believe and offering traditions

Balinese Hinduism subscribes to a multitude of Gods, that all have to be worshipped and offered upon. the Hindu trinity of Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu are all manifestations of one and the same supreme spirit Sanghyang Widhi.


Balinese offer to their Gods three times a day, It is a duty and an honour at the same time.
If you are visiting the island of Bali, undoubtedly would found everywhere a pretty colorful basket filled with cookie, rice and flowers. These are small offering baskets called "canang sari”, It is basically a ritual of giving back what has been given to you by the Gods and the offering appeases the spirits and brings prosperity and good health to the family

Odalan ceremony 
Its considered as a birthday, annual ceremony of a temple based on Balinese calendar 210 days

There are different kinds of odalan that last different lengths of time. Odalan Alit (Small Odalan) would last only a day while Odalan Agung (Great Odalan) would last four days. The Odalan Eka dasa Rudra at Besakih which the biggest temple for Hindu Bali would held only once every 100 years

Ira, pengen ke Bali lagi. Cakep banget foto2nya. Suka bgt liat 'dapur' tradisional itu. Aduh pengen ikutan nonton Ogoh-ogoh dan upacara Odalan.
Trus pengen rengginang juga :)

Hello Ira, an absolutely fabulous post from you. Thanks for capturing the beauty of Bali in its very essence and sharing with us. Pics are awesome.

Most of the traditions are similar to the Indian Hindu culture, considering the influence of the South Asian rulers in the past. The landscapes are adorable. I hope, if God willing, I shall visit this beautiful island. :)

shafa, i have lived in India for 6 years before, the traditions oh the Indian hindu and balinese hindu culture more or less are almost the same. You would definitely fall in love with this island if you have a chance to visit.
