{Simply Magic !

When it comes to have gathering with dear friends always look forward to as we were had one, last Sunday afternoon. We were made spot on plans of simply humble BBQ. There are not enough words to describe when the afternoon until the sunset turns into a magic ending. I really had a great time eating, snapping away and of course looking forward for the next gathering! easy marinated, Olive oil Black paper  Chili powder Roasted garlic sauce Lip-smacking ! Trouble free ! Boil the potato with the jacket, peeled Thousand island dressing Mayonnaise hard boiled eggs comfortable !  Go green, Mix salad Balsamic vinegar dressing Edible !

Teh Tarik-Pulled Tea

Visiting Northern part of Sumatra Island and its surrounding islands is incomplete without trying a cup  of teh tarik. This beverage is very popular and can be found in almost all coffee shops and food stalls from Aceh to the Riau Islands. In some places, if you order milk, don’t be surprised if you get Teh Tarik. Teh Tarik (pulled tea) or sometimes called milk tea, is a variant of tea beverage originated from India called Indian Chai. This beverage was introduced by the Indian people when they stop in Sumatra and the Malay Peninsula during their trade expedition long time ago. This is why it can also be easily found around the Malay Peninsula region. In fact, this beverage is often mistaken as a typical Malayan’s beverage. In addition to Rujak (Indonesian style fruits salad) mango can also be candied, there are variety of candied mango such spicy candied mango which chilli added to it and plain candied mango. Where I live now is not hard to find sellers of various candied fruits, such a candied salak (zalaca), candied papaya, and candied mango. The colorful of fruits candied are very attractive and unique, the best part is that we can give it a try before decided to buy. Making candied mango its very easy and its simply needed the very basic ingredients and simple method too.   Well, This time I make homemade candied mango, besides delicious and of course its Healthier that the one sells outside which contain hesitant food coloring.   I'm doing my candied mango just plain without adding the chilli and food coloring and its absolutely perfect for Heavenly nibble. But at the end of the day it is your personal choice either enjoying spicy candied mango or just plain one. ...

Es Blewah-Cantaloupe Ice

Cantaloupe is variety of melon and more related to cucumber than water melon and its round shape with bumpy skin. Cantaloupe has sweet fragrant and orange flesh, its great for salad or cold drink. Cantaloupe ice ( es blewah) is well-known throughout Indonesia , its suitable for summer drink because its has refreshing aroma, when its seasonal could easily found in traditional market and supermarket. You have likely picked a tender, sweet, flavorful cantaloupe and you may a winner of your summer drink ! Es blewah … Es Blewah / Cantaloupe Ice     Whole cantaloupe Home made sugar syrup ( the amount is totally up to you) water Ice cube Halve the cantaloupe *collect the seeds in a bowl,  *strained and take the juice. Scrape the flesh of cantaloupe and combine with cantaloupe juice. Add the water and home made sugar syrup and then throw in the ice cube good to be serve in the hot summer day ;)

Rujak Gula / Balinese style fruits salad *

--> Rujak is actually a salad made of different kind of slices fruits serve along with sweet/ sour/spicy sauce and rujak gula is Balinese style fruits salad which is most Balinese are familiar with, therefore Rujak means fruits salad and gula means sugar Rujak gula can be found mostly at every corner in the island of bali , specially on the side of the beach among other vendor. To me, the most attractive part is when seeing the rujak seller doing vigorously grinding for the sauce using traditional mortar and pestle, adding without trace quantity of every ingredients and slicing the fruits, trust me, the taste is scrumptious…Worthy to note! This is particular knife and its commonly used by rujak seller in bali, look at it !  its looks unique, isn’t it? Its terrific sharp and gives wavy pattern to the slicing fruits, it makes Balinese rujak gula looks typical. Soto Babat Recipe (Indonesian beef tripe soup)

Soto is one of common dish in Indonesia cuisine, it is an aromatic soup wich has yellow broth because of turmeric is added as one of its ingredients. There are many different variety of soto which is different regions have their own variation of this dish, such a soto madura, soto betawi, soto banjar, soto kudus. I have got my own favourite soto when I was staying in Surabaya "soto ayam Ambengan pak sadi " ( Ambengan is actually the name of the street ) the soto is very delectable and quite signature dish in Surabaya.   Iam treasured the flavour Since I am a big fan of soto, I always make it at lest once a month, so far i can cook perfectly soto ayam (chicken soto ) and soto babat (beef tripe soto). Kolak-Indonesian sweet dessert

  Kolak or Kolek is typical Indonesian dessert, it has a  wonderful fragrance from the pandan leaf and also has a unique taste that makes kolak stay in original flavour. Kolak is stewing fruits and vegetable in creamy coconut milk and are such a pumpkin, yam, cassava, palm seed (kolang kaling), banana and sweet potato. Most of kolak are smells so good somehow it’s really appetizing too, by adding the jackfruit it created another special flavour. It is quite satisfied and you may comfort your afternoon tea time with kolak and it is perfect if its serve chilled.
