Talk about home cook food I always be the one who really keen on, its always simple, adaptable and of course delicious !
I have one thing in common about home cook food, its memorable ! no matter where we are in the present day, home cook food is all time favourite.

Well, my home cooking this time is very warung’ish and its traditionally humble, sambal terong bakar, who can resist ? I cant ! it smell of chargrilled flesh so earthy …
Perhaps the looks doesn’t make you trickle, forget the looks but the taste, in other words : more taste than the looks :)

Salt and sugar to taste

Halve the eggplant then segment to four pieces

Mean while fry the chillies and tomato, stir about 10 sec
Using mortar and pestle, grind all the ingredients above but not too smooth (this is called sambal)

This terong bakar is definitely delicious. My husband love this one. You now, I can get kemangi (the real one) here in California. I just found the market who sell it. Not an Asian market, but Iranian. I was surprise myself. Doesn't matter, I am just happy that I can get kemangi here.
