Rujak is Indonesian style fruit salad and very popular in Indonesia. Every region in Indonesia has their own version of Rujak, they are very interesting in both flavour and presentation. In Java, rujak is also plays an essential role to be a culture dessert of the traditional prenatal ceremony called Tujuh bulanan, its served and enjoy among the invited guests. I grew up with rujak in East Java, there’s always time to enjoy the feast of rujak with family and friends, and the moment turns fun when it called for ‘Rujakan’. Savoury snack is always be my all-time-favourite especially when it tasty and load up with cheese. To me, snacking is a great way to combat hunger in between meal, taking the break to get knock off with cheesy nibble like this one. Gougeres, French cheese puff is perfect snack choice to share, its just taking an extra minute to prep. I relay on David Lebovitz  recipe, it’s well explained, both tips and photos. Sambal Jeruk Kasturi-Calamansi lime Sambal

I personally enjoy to have sambal on my homemade meal, it can make the dish to have another excitement. Sambal is an extremely versatile accompaniment and also very popular in Indonesia and neighbour country of Singapore and Malaysia. On my previous trip to Singapore, I purposely packed up some Calamansi limes from their regular market, as the only reason that we’re not use to have calamansi limes on our daily cooking ingredients in Bali, we have only use to jeruk nipis (lime) and jeruk limo (limau lime). In spite of this fact, Calamansi lime can be found and used around the North of Sulawesi of Northern Indonesia especially in Bengkulu, they use to add Calamansi lime to their local recipes such Kuah Asang, is clear fish sour soup.
